DFB-Pokal
Bayer 04 has reached the final of the national cup competition in Berlin's Olympic Stadium five times. In 1993, the Werkself won the title with a 1:0 victory against the amateurs of Hertha BSC. In the 2023/24 season, the Werkself lifted the DFB Cup for a second time in the club's history with a 1-0 win against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

2024/25 season review part II: From title dreams to goodbye tears
Bayer 04 were in the Bundesliga title race well into spring and also progressed to the latter stages of the DFB Pokal. Ultimately, the team were unable to defend either title, but the Werkself did set a new Bundesliga record in their final game of the season, having bid an emotional farewell to Xabi Alonso and Jonathan Tah at the BayArena the previous week. 2024/25 season review, part I: High expectations of invincible double winners
With the clash at Mainz 05 on the 34th and final matchday of the 2024/25 Bundesliga, another eventful season came to an end. The Werkself finished as runners-up in second place and can be proud of the joint third-best points tally in the club's history. 2-1 defeat in Bielefeld – Werkself miss out on DFB Pokal final
The Werkself lost 2-1 at Arminia Bielefeld in the DFB Pokal semi-final. After an early strike from Jonathan Tah (17'), the hosts turned the game around in the first half with goals from Marius Wörl (20') and Maximilian Großer (45+3'). Bayer 04 are the fourth Bundesliga team to have lost against Arminia Bielefeld in the current cup competition.
