Werkself Review #BMGB04: 'Spectacular opening' with late 'madness'
Just like the Supercup success a week ago, Bayer 04 also struck late in their opening match of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season. 3-2 in Mönchengladbach – last-minute winner for the Werkself
Bayer 04 made a winning start to the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign with a 3-2 victory away to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the opening fixture of the season. Granit Xhaka and Florian Wirtz scored for Leverkusen in the first half with the hosts levelling after the restart. Wirtz scored the winner in the eleventh minute of added time following up from his saved penalty.
