Goalkeeper Matej Kovar moved from Manchester United to Leverkusen in the summer of 2023. The 1.96-metre tall Czech had been loaned to the Czech top club Sparta Prague the season before. Kovar signed a contract with Bayer 04 that runs until 30 June 2027.

Goalkeeper Matej Kovar is joining PSV Eindhoven on loan from Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The Netherlands champions have an option to buy if certain criteria are fulfilled. Czechia international keeper Kovar joined Leverkusen from Manchester United two years ago on a contract to 30 June 2027. With the transfer of the 25-year-old Kovar to the team managed by former Bayer 04 coach Peter Bosz, the Leverkusen goalkeeper line-up is now Mark Flekken, Lukas Hradecky and Niklas Lomb.

Bayer 04 have signed the Czech goalkeeper Matej Kovar. The 23-year-old joins Leverkusen from Manchester United. The 6‘ 5“ U21 international was on loan from Manchester United at top-flight Czech club Sparta Prague last season. The English club signed Kovar five years ago when he moved from his hometown club FC Slovacko to the U18 squad of the Premier League side. Kovar has signed a contract at Leverkusen to 30 June 2027.
