2-2 against Roma - Werkself in Europa League final!
The Werkself have done it! After the 2-0 win in the semi-final first leg at AS Roma, a spectacular 2-2 draw in the second leg was enough to progress to the final of the UEFA Europa League. The Italians led through two penalties, but an own goal and a Josip Stanisic strike in the seventh minute of stoppage time raised the roof of the BayArena - and handed Bayer 04 their ticket for the final against Atalanta on 22 May in Dublin.

Bayer 04 have the final of the UEFA Europa League firmly in their sights as they prepare to host Roma at a sold-out BayArena for the semi-final second leg on Thursday (kick-off: 9pm CEST). The Werkself have a 2-0 lead from last week’s first leg in Rome and are well placed to reach a first European final in over 20 years. Ahead of the return fixture, head coach Xabi Alonso and defender Edmond Tapsoba spoke at the club’s press conference on Wednesday and gave a warning about a motivated opponent.
