"It's very important to continue with the next good result," said Kasper Hjulmand looking back at the recent run of four wins on the bounce. "The players are fully focussed and they know how important it is." When asked about the fluctuations in performance in recent matches, the Dane also said: "We've analysed the games in detail, of course. We've come a long way, especially in our passing and dominant style of play. We want to be consistent and play our game over 90 minutes and put in a good performance."
Borussia are currently twelfth in the league table, three points above of the play-off spot of 16th place, and they have now not won in four league games (2 draws, 2 defeats) following their 4-0 home win at the start of the year. However, Hjulmand by no means underestimates his opponents from the Lower Rhine: "They are strong in transition and, in Haris Tabakovic (Borussia's top scorer with ten goals this season, ed.), they have a striker it’s difficult to defend against."
Also involved in the game at Borussia Park for the Werkself will be Tim Oermann who recently returned early from his loan spell with Austrian champions Sturm Graz. Hjulmand on the defensive reinforcement: "Of course, we've seen a lot of videos of him and were able to get an impression. His first sessions here were very good, it was a good start. He is physically strong and very quick and will strengthen us in the coming months." Hjulmand explained the possible positions where the 22-year-old can be deployed: "He can play in the centre and on the right, that's quite natural for him and something he's learned. But I think he can also play on the left. We'll see over time."
In addition to Mark Flekken, Eliesse Ben Seghir and Nathan Tella, Ibrahim Maza is also sidelined for the away game at Gladbach with 3,150 Werkself fans providing support for the Black and Reds at Borussia Park.

Three goals weren’t enough for the Werkself to beat FC Heidenheim on Saturday. The 3-3 stalemate was Bayer 04’s third Bundesliga draw in a row. After a commanding first half and a two-goal lead, “we didn’t get back into our game,” summarised Mark Flekken, who featured between the sticks for the first time in two months. Patrik Schick once again proved his nose for goal, bagging a brace. He is now the third-most prolific Bundesliga scorer in the club’s history. Despite the squandered points, head coach Kasper Hjulmand remains confident ahead of the final spurt of the season: “We’re ready to overcome this situation.” The Werkself review.
