Ibrahim Maza was Bayer 04's first new signing for the 2025/26 season. At the age of 19, the attacking player moved from his youth club Hertha Berlin in his hometown to Leverkusen, where he signed a contract to 30 June 2030. Managing director sport Simon Rolfes said of the Algerian international after the contract signing: “Ibrahim Maza is currently one of the most interesting young attacking players around. He fits in well with us and our style of football. He has excellent technical skills, is strong at dribbling and assertive, and has an eye for his teammates, who he knows how to use brilliantly.”
