Bayer 04 represented in Bundesliga Team of the Season again

This is the third time Alejandro Grimaldo has been in the top team in a Bundesliga season. That means the Spaniard has been in the Team of the Season every year since joining Bayer 04 in 2023 - as part of the first eleven in the championship-winning season and as a squad player last year. He is again a member of the extended squad.

Garcia and Fudalla in for the first time

Aleix Garcia is part of the top team in a Bundesliga season for the first time this year and, like Grimaldo, complements the first eleven as a bench player.

Vanessa Fudalla, at Leverkusen since May 2025, is in the first eleven of the women's Team of the Season. It is the first time she has been selected.

A panel determined the two top teams in the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. Similar to the monthly Bundesliga Player of the Month and Bundesliga Rookie of the Month awards, the panel consisted of fans (weighting: 40 per cent), the team captains of the 18 Bundesliga clubs (weighting: 30 per cent) and pundits (weighting: 30 per cent) made up of Bundesliga legends and selected media partners.
