The German double winners again selected a special location for the event this year: A marquee was set up in the gardens at the Marienburg in Monheim am Rhein for over 100 invited guests. In warm summer weather and a relaxed atmosphere, they were joined by Lukas Hradecky and Jonas Hofmann, new signings Aleix Garcia, Martin Terrier and Jeanuël Belocian plus head coach Xabi Alonso and goalkeeping coach David Thiel.
After a reception with cold drinks and a flying buffet, Bayer 04 CEO Fernando Carro and sporting managing director Simon Rolfes welcomed the many guests.
That was followed by a short chat with goalkeeping experts Hradecky and Thiel plus the presentation of the three new signings plus another interview with Alonso and Hofmann. Bayer 04 sleeve partners Niedax held a wine tasting and another partner (Bergischländer) provided the first snack.

The visitors enjoyed a wide range of gastronomic treats from the barbecue. A great atmosphere provided the backdrop for the exchange of assessments of the forthcoming season for the German double winners.

Carro summed up the event: "The location was a great choice, the ambience and the atmosphere could not have been better. It was a successful evening all round, a very amiable get-together. Now we are looking forward to the new season with strong partners at our side."
