Bayer 04 signed Gustavo Puerta in January 2023. The central midfielder, who was 19 at the time, moved from Bogota FC to Leverkusen and he initially went out on loan to Bundesliga 2 club FC Nürnberg. Gustavo Puerta signs permanent deal with Hull City
The Colombian midfielder Gustavo Puerta is set to join Hull City on permanent terms from 1 July. Bayer 04 Leverkusen and the Championship club originally agreed a season-long loan in the summer with an option to buy included in the contract. A permanent move to Hull City has been triggered by the number of league appearances Puerta has made this term.

Puerta joins Hull City on loan
The Colombia international Gustavo Puerta is leaving Bayer 04 Leverkusen to join Hull City. The champions of Germany, DFB Pokal and Supercup winners have transferred the 21-year-old on loan for 12 months to the Championship side coached by the former Hamburg SV coach Tim Walter. Hull City have the option to sign the player.

These questions and many more were the focus of the latest Bayer 04 event as part of the neighbourhood games days. With a visit to GGS Kerschensteinerschule, Bayer 04 professionals Gustavo Puerta and Verena Wieder kicked off the third campaign match day of this Bundesliga season against VfL Bochum, which will be centred around the Küppersteg district. The duo were supported by nutritionist Lena Kadlec, who organised a workshop with the pupils.

From Nuremberg back to Leverkusen: Bayer 04 recall Puerta
Bayer 04 Leverkusen will begin the preseason for the 2023/24 campaign on 10 July with the Columbia U20 international Gustavo Puerta in the squad. The Werkself signed the central midfielder from the Colombian capital club Bogota FC at the start of the year and then loaned him out to the Franconian second division club FC Nürnberg.
