Puerta joins Hull City on loan

The Colombia international Gustavo Puerta is leaving Bayer 04 Leverkusen to join Hull City. The champions of Germany, DFB Pokal and Supercup winners have transferred the 21-year-old on loan for 12 months to the Championship side coached by the former Hamburg SV coach Tim Walter. Puerta was signed from Bogotá FC in January 2023 and initially loaned to FC Nürnberg in Bundesliga 2. Puerta made ten appearances for the Werkself in the Bundesliga and the Europa League in 2023/24.

"Gustavo will continue to progress, he's a very talented player as a six or a number eight," said Bayer 04 sporting managing director Simon Rolfes. "We think he will develop really well at Hull."
