Puerta has made 27 Championship appearances for Hull City this season, including 20 starts.
Bayer 04 signed Puerta from the Colombian club Bogota FC in January 2023 and initially loaned him out to Bundesliga 2 side FC Nürnberg. In the 2023/24 campaign, with Bayer 04 winning the double in Germany, Puerta made ten appearances for the Werkself in the Bundesliga and Europa League.
Bayer 04 have agreed a loan deal for Jeanuel Belocian to join fellow Bundesliga club Wolfsburg on loan until the end of the season. The 20-year-old defender’s contract in Leverkusen runs until 30 June 2029.

SAB-P GmbH is to become Bayer 04 Leverkusen's first official inclusion partner. The company, which has previously been involved in the club's Business Club, is underlining its social commitment to inclusion with an agreement that runs until 31 May 2027. Among other things, it will be the shirt sponsor of the Inclusion Team from the 2026/27 season onwards.

Rüdiger Vollborn has been at the club for 40 years, he holds the record number of Bundesliga appearances for the club (401) and is the only Bayer 04 player to have won both the UEFA Cup (1988) and the DFB Pokal (1993). And the Berliner stayed with the Werkself after ending his impressive playing career as he worked as a goalkeeping coach for the following nine years. Vollborn now works under the Bayer Cross as a fan liaison officer and club archivist. Thanks to a 3-1 victory at Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer 04 have secured their third win in a row in their last three games. The impressive conversion of chances gave Bayer 04 a 2-0 lead at half-time on Bundesliga matchday 20 with goals cored by Arthur (26) and Malik Tillman (33). After Eintracht pulled a goal back scored by Robin Koch (50'), the Black and Reds bravely withstood Frankfurt's attacks before Aleix Garcia scored in stoppage time (90+3’) for the Werkself, who had a man extra after Ellyes Skhiri's was shown a second yellow card (70').
