Bayer 04 is represented on the board of EFDN by Meinolf Sprink, fans and community affairs director, and the club plays an active role. In addition, there is also participation in the European wide CSR programmes such as the Walking Football League and the Special Champions League, a football league for young people with disabilities. Another element of this involvement in the network includes discussions on relevant expert committees and is also a key element of the sustainability endeavours at Bayer 04.
On top of the work with the EFDN network, Bayer 04 has been a member of the Football Club Social Alliance (FCSA) since 2009. In partnership with the United Nations agency for refugees (UNHCR) football projects have been held in areas of conflict. Bayer 04 has worked in projects in India, Uganda, Colombia and Vietnam.
A strong and successful partnership that will be continued: Bayer 04 and Energieversorgung Leverkusen GmbH & Co. KG (EVL) have extended their contract for energy supply and related services until 30 June 2027. As part of this, EVL will continue to hold the naming rights to the family section at the BayArena.

Bayer 04 Women's Bundesliga derby at 1. FC Köln was abandoned on Sunday due to a fault floodlight mast at the Franz-Kremer-Stadion. With the score at 1-0 to the hosts, one of the four flood lamps went out in the 35th minute and couldn't be repaired. Sandra Jessen had put FC in front after just 26 seconds.
