Bayer 04 is represented on the board of EFDN by Meinolf Sprink, fans and community affairs director, and the club plays an active role. In addition, there is also participation in the European wide CSR programmes such as the Walking Football League and the Special Champions League, a football league for young people with disabilities. Another element of this involvement in the network includes discussions on relevant expert committees and is also a key element of the sustainability endeavours at Bayer 04.
On top of the work with the EFDN network, Bayer 04 has been a member of the Football Club Social Alliance (FCSA) since 2009. In partnership with the United Nations agency for refugees (UNHCR) football projects have been held in areas of conflict. Bayer 04 has worked in projects in India, Uganda, Colombia and Vietnam.
Special events for a special match: Bayer 04 are offering fans a varied programme of events at tonight’s home game in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga against German champions Bayern Munich (kick-off: 18:00 CEST). Alongside a number of interactive activities, events to mark the DFB Sustainability matchday are also planned around the Ulrich Haberland Stadium.
