Season launch: Exclusive Q&A with Simon Rolfes and Thomas Eichin

Fancy asking the Bayer 04 managing director sport and the director of professional teams a question? You have the chance to do just that at the exclusive members’ event as part of the 2026 season launch. Following the men’s friendly against Sevilla on Saturday 8 August, Simon Rolfes and Thomas Eichin will be on hand to answer questions from Club members at the Schwadbud. Apply now, up to and including Sunday 2 August, to secure your place and find out from the pair everything you’ve always wanted to know. The selected club members will also each receive two tickets for the season launch.

At 17:30 CEST, the doors of the Schwadbud, to the east of the BayArena, will open for guests attending the Members’ Q&A. From around 18:00 CEST, Simon Rolfes and Thomas Eichin will then spend about an hour answering questions from the Werkself fans in attendance covering a wide range of topics.

Club members can now register for the event up to and including Sunday 2 August. Accompanying guests are not permitted, and places are limited. For this reason, places will be allocated by a draw from among all fully completed registrations received by the deadline. When registering, let us know the question you would like to put to Rolfes and/or Eichin.

Club members who have secured a place will receive an email confirming their place once the registration deadline has passed, including all the key information about the event. Back at the BayArena at last! For the first time since the summer break, the Werkself played at their home ground in the 2026 season launch – and went on to beat Sevilla in the fifth preseason friendly. Patrik Schick turned the game around after Miguel Sierra put the visitors ahead (16’), scoring twice in the second half (66’, 79’) to the delight of the Bayer 04 fans in the new seats at the BayArena. New signing Miguel Gutiérrez was delighted to provide the assist for the equaliser on his debut under the Bayer Cross.

Season launch 2026: Special offers and free printing

There’s plenty for Bayer 04 fans to enjoy both on and off the pitch at the official 2026 season launch. In addition to the women’s team taking on Feyenoord at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium at 13:15 CEST and the men’s team facing Sevilla at the BayArena at 15:30 CEST, fans of all ages can enjoy a range of activities – and get to meet Bayer 04 players and former players in the process. 2026 Season launch: The programme of events

The Werkself are finally back. On Saturday 8 August, Bayer 04 kick off the 2026/27 campaign with their opening match. But there’s far more than just a double-header in store for Werkself supporters. True to the motto ‘One day. Two teams. One club’, the BayArena and the Ulrich Haberland Stadium will be transformed into a world of excitement.

Log on and watch live: Stream Werkself pre-season games

Bayer 04 are back on the pitch. Following the first training sessions, the Werkself play the first pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 18. The match against Oberliga club Sportfreunde Baumberg kicks off at 15:30 CEST in Monheim am Rhein. Fans unable to attend the match can watch head coach Carles Martínez’s first game in charge for free via a livestream at bayer04.de and on the Bayer 04 app, as well as on Werkself.tv (exclusively for members). Just log on and watch the games live. All the other Werkself preseason friendlies leading up to the 2026/27 season will also be streamed live for free.
