Log on and watch live: Stream Werkself pre-season games

Bayer 04 are back on the pitch. Following the first training sessions, the Werkself play the first pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 18. The match against Oberliga club Sportfreunde Baumberg kicks off at 15:30 CEST in Monheim am Rhein. Fans unable to attend the match can watch head coach Carles Martínez’s first game in charge for free via a livestream at bayer04.de and on the Bayer 04 app, as well as on Werkself.tv (exclusively for members). Just log on and watch the games live. All the other Werkself preseason friendlies leading up to the 2026/27 season will also be streamed live for free.

Whether it is the first pre-season match, a friendly in Offenbach, or international friendlies against Premier League clubs Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United: Werkself fans can watch all pre-season fixtures live for free. All you need is a Bayer 04 account.

Members and all fans who are already registered at bayer04.de or on the Bayer 04 app do not need to do anything in advance; they simply need to be logged in with their Bayer 04 account on the day of the game.

Fans who want to watch the pre-season games but do not yet have a Bayer 04 account can easily register for free. Signing up takes just a few clicks.

Werkself lose 3-2 at Elversberg despite late comeback in Bundesliga opener

No points to start the league campaign: Bayer 04 lost 3-2 away to newly promoted SV 07 Elversberg in the first Bundesliga match of the 2026/27 campaign. Two quick-fire goals from Lukas Petkov (8’) and Cole Campbell (10’) gave the hosts an early lead, before David Mokwa scored the Saarland side’s third shortly after half-time (46’). In the closing stages, the Werkself rallied and staged a late comeback with goals from Patrik Schick (77’) and Christian Kofane (90+1’), but the Black and Reds were denied an equaliser.
