Bellarabi faces operation in Basel
Following in-depth discussions between Karim Bellarabi and Bayer 04 Leverkusen it has been decided the player should undergo an operation.
The striker will be operated on tomorrow, Wednesday 14 September by Dr Bernhard Segesser at the Rennbahn Clinic in Basel. This is to repair ligament damage in his right groin.
Bellarabi picked up the injury in Saturday's Bundesliga home game against Hamburg SV. He was substituted in the opening minutes due to a torn muscle and ligaments in the right groin. The 26-year-old Germany international will not be available for selection by head coach Roger Schmidt for the rest of 2016.

23 Bayer 04 Women kick off preseason training
The Bayer 04 Women's squad have started preparing for the new season six weeks after their last Bundesliga match. In warm sunny weather, coach Roberto Pätzold welcomed 23 players back to the training ground at the Kurtekotten Performance Centre for the first training session – including two of the four new players.
