Along with first-team players Nordi Mukiele, Arthur, Nathan Tella, Jonas Hofmann, Martin Terrier and Patrik Schick, five members of the U19 team were also part of the training group. Meanwhile, Niklas Lomb and youth keepers Oleksandr Petrenko and Jesper Schlich went through their exercises under the guidance of goalkeeping coach David Thiel.
After the one-on-one exercises and passing drills in close spaces, the goalkeeper trio joined the outfield players for various shooting drills and another training game.

Following the session, which lasted around 90 minutes, Tella told the media in attendance at the training ground: "Training is still very intense during the international breaks. We're working as hard as possible every day to be ready for the next game." On his personal situation, the 25-year-old added: "I'm doing my best in every training session to impress and help the team as much as possible."

After speaking to the media, Tella joined his team-mates in fulfilling the many photo and autograph requests from the Bayer 04 fans who had come to the Werkself's training.
The remaining sessions this week are not open to the public.
