With the words "Hello everyone" and a big smile on his face, Tapsoba greeted the numerous fans in attendance before the autograph marathon for a good cause began. The Werkself player was beaming with joy: "I’m very grateful for the support of the fans, who also played a major role in my decision to extend my contract. And of course a big thank you to Kofi (Christian Kofane, ed.) and Ibo (Ibrahim Maza)." Maza was also pleased about the somewhat different meeting with the fans: "It's crazy how many of them are here. It's great, especially for the foundation. It's a great feeling that everyone here sticks together like this, even when it comes to such important issues!"
The trio took a lot of time for the fans and left no wish unfulfilled. Some had travelled from further afield - including Ute and Reno from near Zwickau in Saxony, who had travelled over 520 kilometres with their sons. When asked, Reno explained why he and his family had made the journey with the succinct but clear words "love for the club." Of course, they will also be staying for the Werkself's important home game against RB Leipzig on Saturday night, 2 May (kick-off: 18:30 CEST), in the race for Champions League qualification.

Many hundreds of fans have already supported the good cause and the Fondation Edmond Tapsoba by buying the T-shirt. Would you like to do the same? Then you have one last chance to buy the limited edition shirts (sizes S-XL) at the Fanwelt on the home matchday against RB Leipzig for €9.99 each! You can find the opening hours HERE.
This week, an exclusive documentary about Edmond Tapsoba was released on Werkself TV and the club's YouTube channel. The Bayer 04 player travelled to his home country of Burkina Faso with a delegation from the club at the end of March. On site, Tapsoba provided special insights into his footballing beginnings, the country's culture and the inspiring work of his Fondation Edmond Tapsoba - which once again receives support from Leverkusen through the proceeds of the T-shirt sales. You can find the documentary HERE.
