Centre-forward Christian Kofane joined Bayer 04 at the start of the 2025/26 summer preparations. At the age of 18, the Cameroonian moved to Leverkusen from Spanish second division club Albacete Balompié and signed a contract until 2029. Managing Director Sport Simon Rolfes said on signing the 1.89-metre tall goalscorer: "Christian Kofane is an extremely powerful and fast striker, technically gifted and very assertive. He will make our game even more varied with his strengths."
