Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga
From 2010 to 2017 and again since the 2018/19 season, the Bayer 04 Women have played in the first division. With 13 wins and 43 points, the Werkself finished the 2024/25 season in fourth place, the best position in the club's history.

Closely fought top-of-the-table clash: Bayer 04 Women suffer narrow defeat to Wolfsburg
Despite a spirited performance, the Bayer 04 Women suffered their first defeat in their first home game of the season. In front of 1,184 spectators at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium, coach Roberto Pätzold’s side lost 2-1 to VfL Wolfsburg. Selina Ostermeier’s equaliser (51’) was not enough to secure a point, as the Bundesliga runners-up were quick to strike back.

Second-half double brings Bayer 04 Women opening win in Leipzig
Thanks to an efficient second half, Bayer 04 Women kicked off the new Bundesliga season with a hard-earned 2-0 win at RB Leipzig on Sunday afternoon. A quickfire double from strikers Cornelia Kramer and Maja Sternad after the break earned coach Roberto Pätzold's side the first three points of the campaign.

Women: Carolin Simon appointed as new captain
Carolin Simon is the new captain of the Bayer 04 women’s team. The full-back, who joined from Bayern Munich in the summer, will take over the captain’s armband for the 2026/27 season. Simon returned to Leverkusen in the summer after ten years away. The 33-year-old succeeds goalkeeper Friederike Repohl, who retired at the end of last season.

‘Competition is fierce’: Women kick off Bundesliga campaign in Leipzig
After 62 days of preparation, the time has finally come: the Werkself kick off the new Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga season on Sunday (16:00 CEST) with an away match at RB Leipzig. Following a major shake-up over the summer, with eleven players leaving and twelve new signings, initial impressions from the past few weeks have given manager Roberto Pätzold great cause for optimism.

Diagnostics and training: Bayer 04 Women with new faces start pre-season
At the end of June, Bayer 04 became the first team in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga to begin their pre-season preparations. As well as training sessions at the Kurtekotten facility, the players under coach Roberto Pätzold completed the customary series of performance diagnostics.
