Women's Bundesliga: Matchdays 1 to 3 confirmed

The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed the timings for matchdays 1 to 3 in the FLYERALARM Women's Bundesliga on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bayer 04 Women have Sunday matches in their first two fixtures of the 2021/22 campaign with an away game at promoted Carl Zeiss Jena and a home encounter against SGS Essen; the second home game on matchday three against Turbine Potsdam has been chosen as the top match on Friday night and it will be broadcast live on Eurosport.

Sunday, 29 August, 13.00 CEST: FC Carl Zeiss Jena vs Bayer 04
Sunday, 5 September, 14.30 CEST: Bayer 04 vs SGS Essen
Friday, 10 September, 19.15 CEST: Bayer 04 vs FFC Turbine Potsdam

Fans will also be able to watch all the other Bayer 04 Women's games live in the coming season: The DFB and partner Telekom have made a massive investment in raising the profile of the FLYERALARM Women's Bundesliga and are showing all the matches in the top-flight league for the first time live on Magenta Sport. In addition, as in the past, one game per matchday will be broadcast on Eurosport. ARD also has the right to show an additional live game per matchday as well as highlights. Beyond that, the broadcaster will also provide regular updates on Saturday games on the Sportschau and thereby integrate the FLYERALARM Women's Bundesliga into their programme over the long term.

This evening was deeply moving: At a really special setting, Bayer 04 exclusively presented the specially produced documentary ‘Fierté Burkinabè’ ("Burkinabe Pride") about Edmond Tapsoba on Tuesday. For the preview at the BayArena, the parents of the Werkself player and other close companions travelled all the way from his African homeland Burkina Faso. The 45-minute film shows Tapsoba's extraordinary career from his beginnings in Ouagadougou to Leverkusen as well as the work of his foundation "Fondation Edmond Tapsoba", with representatives from Burkina Faso also present. Fans can watch the documentary free of charge on Werkself TV and YouTube from Wednesday night at 20:00 CEST.
