In the first match of the evening, Marc ‘MARC_LDW23’ Landwehr was up against St Pauli’s Kamal ‘FCSP_KAMAL’ Kamboj – in the 1v1 on PlayStation 5. The Leverkusen player demonstrated his ability to fight back by securing a 2-2 draw after being 2-0.
The following 1v1 on Xbox Series S/X saw Fabian ‘B04_DUBZJE’ de Cae lose 4-2, and Landwehr and Paul ‘B04_PAUL’ Degner suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat in the 2v2 game. “We could have got a result,” said Degner afterwards. “We had more chances but unfortunately we weren’t able to take them.”
After the point earned earlier in the evening, PS5 pro Landwehr clocked up three against Hamburg SV: Thanks to a late goal, he beat Hamburg’s Daniel ‘HSV_DANIEL7’ Dwelk 1-0. De Cae took a 1-0 lead on Xbox but ended up losing 2-1.
The following 2v2 was won by Landwehr and Degner – the scoreline was 2-0 after 90 virtual minutes. Degner’s assessment: “We can be happy with the matchday against HSV.”

"But to talk negatively about everything now because of that would be wrong," stressed captain Robert Andrich following the final game, knowing that the past year at Bayer 04 was marked, more than almost any other, by the start of a new era and the courage to change – and in particular, the belief in a positive direction. Everyone was aware this process would need time. The first part of the 2025/26 season review.
