Bundesliga: DFL confirms matchdays 1 to 6
The German Football League (DFL) has confirmed the schedule for the first six matchdays in the 2021/22 Bundesliga season. The Werkself have five Saturday matches and one on a Sunday.
Into the new season at the traditional Bundesliga kick-off time: The away game at Union Berlin on matchday one will be played on Saturday, 14 August. The kick-off at the An der Alten Försterei stadium is at 15.30 CEST. The opening home fixture is on Saturday, 21 August. The clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach at the BayArena kicks off at 18.30 CEST.
The third and last match in August is an away fixture at FC Augsburg. As with the game in Berlin, this match is also on a Saturday afternoon (28 August) at 15.30 CEST. That is followed by the home match against Borussia Dortmund, the away game at VfB Stuttgart and the meeting with Mainz 05 at the BayArena (fixtures listed below).
