The support at the first competitive match in Großaspach with 2,500 Bayer 04 fans, who made the long journey on Friday night, was impressive. Even the 40-minute break due to hail and heavy rain did not interrupt the great and vocal support from the away section. "That so many fans are with us away from home feels very special. That support for us means a lot and it makes us very proud," said head coach Erik ten Hag this week.

As with all Bundesliga home games last season, the home sections have long been sold out for the Werkself's Bundesliga opener against TSG Hoffenheim at the BayArena on Saturday. And the available ticket allocation in the early booker phase has already been taken up for all this season’s Bayer 04 Bundesliga home games.
But it is not only the demand for match tickets that is high as ever. There are over 16,500 requests for season cards on the season card waiting list – an increase of over 20% compared with last year!
"We are absolutely confident we will play attractive and successful football in the coming season with this young, hungry and new team," said Bayer 04 CEO Fernando Carro. "We are convinced our fans will have a lot of joy with our new signings who, together with our established players, will again take us into the top four in Germany. Our ambition remains unchanged at home and in Europe."
In addition, Bayer 04 and the new kit supplier New Balance can rejoice in the second highest start to jersey sales in the club's history – both with the new home kit as well as the new away shirt. The demand for jerseys was only higher last season when they had the champions badge for the first time.
And Bayer 04 fans are now all set up for the Bundesliga start at the BayArena on Saturday!

Bayer 04 put in a brilliant performance to beat RB Leipzig 4-1 on Bundesliga matchday 32 and are now fourth in a Champions League spot. The Black and Reds took control of the game right from the start and, with 75 per cent possession at one stage, took a 2-0 lead into the break through Patrik Schick (25’) and Nathan Tella (45+1’). The visitors initially tried to do more after the break, but the Werkself remained determined and Schick scored his second goal to increase the lead to 3-0 (76'). The Red Bulls pulled a goal back through Christoph Baumgartner (80'), but the disciplined Leverkusen side were not rattled - and certainly not Schick: The Czechia international crowned a brilliant display with his third goal shortly before the final whistle to make the final score 4-1.

In the previous game against RB Leipzig in December last year, the Werkself turned came from behind to win 3-1 and further improved Leverkusen's already strong record against the Red Bulls. Montrell Culbreath stood out with his first goal on his debut for the Black and Reds. While the 18-year-old would certainly like to score a second goal against Leipzig on Saturday night, the attack-minded visitors come to the BayArena in confident mood after five Bundesliga victories in a row. The Nordkurve12 supporters group knows the Werkself will therefore once again be reliant on the vociferous support of the fans, and has once again called for the ‘Finally Red’ campaign in the run-in.
