Bayer 04 signed Spanish right-back Lucas Vázquez in the summer of 2025. The veteran came from Real Madrid and signed a contract at Leverkusen to 2027. In the previous season, Vázquez was one of the top performers for the Real making 53 appearances. The nine-time Spain international has made a total of 402 competitive appearances for the Madrid club, winning 23 trophies in his career to date. “In Lucas Vázquez, we are signing an extremely experienced player who has won everything there is to win with Real Madrid over the past ten years,” said Bayer 04 managing director sport Simon Rolfes at the signing of the contract.
