Jorde started all 26 of her team’s league fixtures last year in Norway’s Toppserien. She made a total of 80 appearances for Lyn, scoring three goals. The midfielder has so far played 31 times for her country’s youth teams, with 27 coming for at U19 level (two goals) and four for the U23s.

Feifel: “Dynamic, aggressive play, strong tackler”

“Julie arrives as an U23 international with a lot of potential, she’s dynamic, has aggressive play and is a strong tackler. We’re very pleased we’ve been able to bring her in as reinforcement in central midfield,” said head of Bayer 04 Women, Achim Feifel. Jorde had impressed club bosses at a trial last year. “We all immediately agreed that she could help us in the short and also long-term,” Feifel added.

Jorde will wear the No.17 shirt at Bayer 04 vacated by Nürnberg-bound Amira Arfaoui. “I’m excited to finally get going. The first impression of the club and the team is super. I want to play as much as possible and develop further on the pitch but also as a person,” the new signing said. Describing her strengths, the Norwegian added: “I play in a very aggressive way, like to get stuck in and have an eye for long passes.”
