The Bayer 04 eSports players face the two professional Hamburg clubs on matchdays 19 and 20 in the VBL Club Championship: Tonight, 8 February, the games against FC St Pauli kick-off at 18.00 CET and that is followed by the matches against Hamburg SV at 20.00 CET. As usual, the Werkself will broadcast the match action on the club’s Twitch channel.

The #B04eSports team is waiting to pounce: Marc ‘MARC_LDW23’ Landwehr and his teammates are eighth in the North West division after 17 games. They will be looking to make up ground tonight and move into the top six.

The Leverkusen players start against the team in sixth spot. FCSP have three more points and that makes an overall victory against a direct rival even more important.

Also on the heels of HSV

Bayer 04 are a further three points behind HSV compared with FC St Pauli. The games against the fourth-placed team start at 20.00 CET.

The reverse fixtures against the Hamburg clubs both ended in 4-4 draws.

All games live on Twitch

The matches involving the #B04eSports team will be broadcast as usual on the club’s Twitch channel. HERE is the link to the channel.

Werkself slip to sixth after 3-1 defeat in Stuttgart showdown

Down to fifth from fourth place despite taking an early lead: in the head-to-head for a Champions League spot, Bayer 04 were 1-0 up at VfB Stuttgart with just a minute played thanks to an Aleix Garcia strike, but ultimately lost 3-1 (2-1) to the more determined hosts. It meant the Swabians leapfrogged the Werkself in the Bundesliga table on the penultimate matchday.

Matchday news #VfBB04: Taking the next big step with the full weight of our fans behind us

Today sees Bayer 04 go head-to-head with their next direct rivals in the race for Champions League qualification (kick-off 15:30 CEST). Opponents Stuttgart are currently fifth in the table, level on points with the Werkself but one place below them due to a three-goal inferior goal difference. The Black and Reds' record at Bad Cannstatt tells a clearer story: they've not lost at VfB for over 16 years. One important factor in securing what would be three crucial points away from home is Leverkusen's strength on the counter-attack. Whilst Stuttgart are also extremely dangerous going forward, they will be without their captain. Today’s matchday news.
