Marc ‘MARC_LDW23’ Landwehr and Co. face a really tough challenge tonight at 18.00 CET: The virtual encounter is against Hannover 96, the current league leaders of the North West division. It is a clash between two teams with the fewest goals conceded. While the top club have let in 43, the eighth-placed team from Leverkusen have conceded 53 (Borussia Mönchengladbach are also on 53). This match promises to be tense as the overall result in the first half of the season was a 4-4 draw.
There was also a draw (3-3) with VfL Wolfsburg in the previous meeting of the two sides. Leverkusen go into the second match against the eSports players from the motor city as slight favourites. Bayer 04 produced an impressive display from start to finish as they maintained their perfect home record this season with a 2-0 win over RB Leipzig on Bundesliga Matchday 4. Patrik Schick opened the scoring just before half-time, with Miguel Gutiérrez getting his first Werkself goal to wrap up the three points at the BayArena, where fans also got to enjoy the family matchday activities.

Peter Hermann passed away on Saturday at the age of 74. The entire Bayer 04 family is deeply saddened by the loss of a much-loved figure who helped shape football in Leverkusen over many decades. He was also one of the most respected coaches in the whole of Germany. Hermann had been suffering from ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) for some time.
