STIGA is new partner in Bayer 04 Sponsors Club

The leading garden tools manufacturer STIGA is now an official partner in the Bayer 04 Leverkusen Sponsors Club. The company based in Straelen in North Rhine Westphalia will support the champions of Germany and DFB Pokal winners with the maintenance of the training pitches. The partnership between Bayer 04 and STIGA is currently set to run to 30 June 2025.

The contractual benefits of the STIGA Group, who are also an official partner of Bayer 04 Youth teams in addition to the status as a partner in the Sponsors Club, cover a TV relevant presence via the LED advertising on the upper tiers at the BayArena as well as supplier boards on the LED advertising on the east side of the stadium. In addition, STIGA together with other Bayer 04 Sponsors Club partners will be featured on additional media platforms at the Leverkusen stadium for the Werkself home games. As well as hospitality benefits and digital rights via Stadium Vision in the new Fanzone at the BayArena plus temporary product placements there, PR events with the ground staff at Bayer 04 Leverkusen complete the partnership between the German double winners and STIGA.

In a friendly against Belgian top-flight side KRC Genk on Saturday afternoon, coach Roberto Pätzold’s team secured a 1–0 win. Lobke Loonen (20’) scored the winner for the Black and Reds at the Kurtekotten training centre.

Werkself beat Essen 3-0 in friendly ahead of preseason training camp

A successful fourth preseason friendly ahead of the start of the training camp: The Werkself secured a 3-0 victory over Rot-Weiss Essen at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium. The goals in what was a commanding and dominant performance by Leverkusen from the outset were scored by Ibrahim Maza (8'), Patrik Schick from the penalty spot (23’) and, in the second half, Montrell Culbreath with a header (79’). The team set off for their training camp in Blankenhain in the Weimarer Land region after the game.

Rudi recounts…: Vollborn August highlights

Rüdiger Vollborn has been at the club for 40 years, he holds the record number of Bundesliga appearances for the club (401) and is the only Bayer 04 player to have won both the UEFA Cup (1988) and the DFB Pokal (1993). And the Berliner stayed with the Werkself after ending his impressive playing career as he worked as a goalkeeping coach for the following nine years.
