Jeremie Frimpong has already found the back of the net eight times for the Werkself in the current Bundesliga campaign and he has also provided six assists in the league. The Dutchman scored in the 3-0 win against Schalke 04 and in the 4-1 victory over Union-Saint Gilloise in April.
Moussa Diaby also netted in the second leg at Saint-Gilloise: His opener on two minutes paved the way for the Black and Reds to progress to the Europa League semi-finals. The Frenchman also scored against Eintracht Frankfurt at the start of April.
The two Bayer 04 players are joined by fellow nominees Timo Werner (RB Leipzig), Donyell Malen (Borussia Dortmund), Benjamin Pavard (FC Bayern) and Josha Vagnoman (VfB Stuttgart).
The final result is decided as follows: 40 per cent of the votes from fans, plus 30 per cent each from the 18 team captains and a group of pundits.

After a few loan spells, the goalkeeper is a fixture of the Werkself first team and an “important part of our ambitious team”, according to Simon Rolfes. It’s been an emotional few days for the 30-year-old, who signed a contract extension through to 2027 earlier this month as well.
