Experienced referee Deniz Aytekin is the man in the middle today. The 43-year-old officiated for the first time in the Bundesliga in 2008 and has been a FIFA referee since 2011. This season, Aytekin refereed the 4-0 home win for the Werkself against Borussia Mönchengladbach on matchday two. A first birthday under the Bayer Cross: Bayer 04 head coach Gerardo Seoane celebrates his 43rd birthday today. The Lucerne-born coach has been at Leverkusen since the start of the season. His record to date in 14 games: eight wins plus three draws and three defeats – that's an impressive average of 1.93 points per game. Many happy returns, Gerry!
A Leverkusen DFB Cup winner of 1993 today celebrates his 50th birthday: Mario Tolkmitt won the cup in his first season with the Werkself. The midfielder from Berlin stayed for four and a half years before moving on to Fortuna Düsseldorf. Tolkmitt retired from football in the summer of 1998. Bayer 04 send birthday greetings.

For the second time in four days, Bayer 04 face Borussia Dortmund this Tuesday evening, 2 December (kick-off: 21:00 CET) - this time in the round of 16 of the DFB Pokal, with more than 7,000 fans supporting the Werkself at Signal Iduna Park.
