Bayer 04 have three Saturday night top games at home to Borussia Dortmund (1 October), away to Werder Bremen (15 October) and at the record champions Bayern Munich (26 November). The home games against Hoffenheim (22 October) and Darmstadt (5 November) plus the away game at Wolfsburg (29 October) are all Saturday afternoon games at 15.30 CET. The match at the BayArena against newcomers RB Leipzig (18 November) is the Friday fixture on matchday eleven at 20.30 CET.

The Bayer 04 Women suffered a setback in the race for third place in the Bundesliga table. Coach Roberto Pätzold's team lost 1-0 at home to direct rivals TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday afternoon, with a penalty after two minutes deciding the match.
