
2017 starts with the final game of the first half of the season at home to Hertha Berlin on 22 January at 15.30 CET. The second half of the campaign begins the following weekend at the BayArena with the visit of Borussia Mönchengladbach in the top game at 18.30 CET. The away fixture at Hamburg SV on matchday 19 is a Friday night match on 3 February with a 20.30 CET kick-off. The Werkself then entertain Eintracht Frankfurt at the BayArena on 11 February at the traditional Bundesliga kick-off time of 15.30 CET.

After eight years, Ida Daedelow is set to leave Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The 18-year-old, whose original contract was due to run to 2027, is joining second-division side VfL Bochum.
