The Bundesliga game in Bremen on Monday, 16 March will be played after successful discussions with the local authorities of the Hanseatic city under the conditions described below.
A similar approach in discussion with UEFA and the authorities in the City of Leverkusen is being sought for the second leg of the Europa League Round of 32 tie for the Werkself against Rangers on Thursday, 19 March at the BayArena. If and when, and under which constraints, the match can be played requires written permission from the City of Leverkusen specifically adapted to the BayArena venue. Only when that has been issued, can the parties involved finally decide about playing the fixture – definitely behind closed doors and under certain conditions.
Holders of match tickets are entitled to a full refund. Repayment is made through the same means as the ticket was bought with. The club will be proactive in informing anyone who has bought a ticket. That currently applies to the Bundesliga away game at Werder Bremen and the Europa League match against Rangers at the BayArena.
For holders of season card model 2 that means: The repayment for the home game against Rangers will be made by Bayer 04 in the next few days.
For other home games in the Bundesliga, which are held behind closed doors, the same procedure will apply with season card holders receiving 1/17th of the season card cost per game. In this case, Bayer 04 will have to wait and see what happens with developments around Coronavirus and the associated decisions.
As things stand, UEFA and the local authorities in Glasgow have not imposed any restrictions on the Werkself away game in the Europa League on Thursday night. There is currently no information about the possibility of the game being held behind closed doors. The club will immediately be informed if the situation changes or there is new information. The fans’ charter flight to Glasgow is still scheduled to fly. Here too: Bayer 04 will communicate without delay if anything changes.
