From Leverkusen, Florian Wirtz and Jonathan Tah are in the first XI of the 2024/25 Bundesliga Team of the Season. Patrik Schick, Piero Hincapie and Alejandro Grimaldo extend the team. It is the first time Schick has been in the top 11 of the season.

This is made up of – as with the monthly votes for Bundesliga Player of the Month and Bundesliga Rookie of the Month – fans (weighting: 40%), the team captains of the 18 Bundesliga clubs (weighting: 30%) as well as a group of pundits (weighting: 30%) consisting of Bundesliga legends and selected media partners.

The Bayer 04 Women suffered a setback in the race for third place in the Bundesliga table. Coach Roberto Pätzold's team lost 1-0 at home to direct rivals TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday afternoon, with a penalty after two minutes deciding the match. With 32 points and a game in hand, TSG have moved above the Werkself, who remain on 31 points. There is now a three-week international break before the remaining seven Bundesliga matches.
