Tickets for the friendly fixtures in Nottingham and Newcastle

In mid-August, the Werkself will set off on a four-day trip to England to play their final two friendly matches of the 2026/27 pre-season against Premier League clubs Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United. The match in Nottingham against the Tricky Trees is on Wednesday 12 August at 20:45 CEST (19:45 BST) at the City Ground. The game against the Magpies in Newcastle is on Saturday 15 August at 16:00 CEST (15:00 BST) at the atmospheric St James’ Park. Details on ticket sales for both matches.

The exclusive sale for season card holders and Bayer 04 Club members begins for both matches on Wednesday 15 July at 12:00 CEST.

Ticket sales for the Nottingham Forest game end on 10 August (23:59 CEST), and for the Newcastle United fixture two days later on 12 August (23:59 CEST). As usual, in both cases, tickets are subject to availability.

Bayer 04 sign Argentine World Cup runner-up Facundo Medina from Marseille

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have signed Argentina international Facundo Medina. The defender, who can play both at left-back and in a more central position in the back line, has signed a contract with Bayer 04 to 30 June 2031. The 1.84-metre-tall World Cup runner-up, who will wear the number 2 shirt, joins the club from French top-flight side Olympique de Marseille.
