
Germany ended their five-game winless run on Tuesday with a friendly victory over France. DFB sporting director Rudi Völler was on the touchline as interim coach as his team went ahead inside four minutes through Thomas Müller, with Bayer 04’s Jonathan Tah at right-back and Florian Wirtz in attack. Jonas Hofmann came on for Wirtz after 78 minutes. Leroy Sane doubled the lead shortly before the end. Antoine Griezmann scored a consolation penalty for France.
Switzerland were also victorious on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 win over Andorra in Group I of Euro 2024 qualification. Captain Granit Xhaka set up the opener before scoring the second himself as the Swiss maintained their grip on top spot in the section.
New Leverkusen man Josip Stanisic was in Armenia with Croatia and played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 victory. The third-placed finishers at last year’s World Cup top Euro qualifying Group D with 10 points, having also played a game less than Turkey on the same total.
Adli (Morocco) faced his Werkself teammate Edmond Tapsoba (Burkina Faso) in a friendly, with the Atlas Lions winning 1-0. It was Adli’s debut for the national team, playing 67 minutes. Tapsoba played through. Meanwhile, Odilon Kossounou was watching from the bench as the Ivory Coast’s friendly against Mali was suspended due to heavy rain with the score goalless.

Over in South America, Argentina brought up their second win from as many games on the road to qualification for the 2026 World Cup, beating Bolivia 3-0. Leverkusen’s Palacios came on in the 76th minute and set up the final goal. The Albiceleste had earlier beaten Ecuador in the opening match of qualifying.
Noah Mbamba was in action for Belgium’s U19s as he started their friendly win over Scotland. Madi Monamay was with their U18s at a tournament in Sweden.

The final whistle of the current 2025/26 season marks the end of a unique partnership for Bayer 04 Leverkusen. After more than three decades of collaboration and highly eventful times, the Bundesliga football club and the private brewery Bitburger are going their separate ways.

Around four months after their bitter exit in the DFB Pokal Round of 16, the Bayer 04 Women are once again away to Hamburger SV. On Monday night (18:00 CEST), the Werkself will not only be looking to pick up important points in the final phase of the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga at the Volksparkstadion, but also to make amends for their defeat on penalties.

A simple approach to sport with games, fun and a highlight at the end: Bayer 04 organised a very special training session for 40 participants aged between six and 27 in cooperation with the Football Association of the Middle Rhine (FVM). At the day of action for women and girls with disabilities at the Kurtekotten Performance Centre, many of the participants gained their first experience of football.

On Saturday, 28 March, the lights will go out again at the BayArena from 20:30 pm to 21:30. As in previous years, Bayer 04 once again take part in the WWF Earth Hour campaign under the motto "We're switching off" as the club wants to set a collective example for more climate and environmental protection together with people, cities and companies around the world.
