
In a Black and Red shirt, the wizard on the wing scored nine goals and provided eleven assists putting him second in the list of top scorers at the club behind teammate Moussa Diaby (14 goals). Frimpong last scored in the 4-1 away win at Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League quarter-final second leg. The Dutchman, who has been under the Bayer Cross since January 2021, has made 95 appearances and played over 7,000 minutes for the Werkself. Patrik Schick won the vote last season.
In second place behind Frimpong was the winner from 2020/21. Florian Wirtz made an impressive comeback after recovering from a torn cruciate injury.
