"Aleksa Damjanovic is one of the most promising forward talents in Europe," said managing director sport Simon Rolfes. "He is very keen to learn and hungry for success. We are delighted to have him here at Bayer 04 from the summer." Director of football Kim Falkenberg sees the 1.98 metre tall left-footer as "an attacker who knows how to use his physicality brilliantly in the penalty area. He also has great finishing and heading ability."
For Damjanovic, who has made 17 appearances so far this season, the move to Bayer 04 is "a fantastic opportunity to develop and improve at a top club like Bayer 04. It's exactly the right situation for me to move abroad in the summer. I'm highly motivated to assert myself here at Leverkusen."
Damjanovic won the Serbian championship with the Red Star U17s in 2023/24 and 2024/25. He scored 39 goals in a total of 47 appearances and was also top scorer in 2025. In the current season, the attacker has played for both Red Star in the top flight and for Grafičar Belgrade in Serbia's second division.

Bayer 04 have secured the services of Serbia U19 international Aleksa Damjanovic for next season. The 17-year-old centre-forward will move from Red Star Belgrade to Leverkusen in the summer on a long-term contract. The 1.98 metre tall striker is regarded as one of the most promising attacking talents in Europe and has recently impressed with strong performances at both first team and youth level. Managing director sport Simon Rolfes and director of football Kim Falkenberg particularly praise his finishing, heading ability and physical presence in the penalty area.
