The central design element of the new kit is the classic club badge. To fit in with the overall colour, the badge this year is in black and white, which fits the classic appearance of the new Werkself kit. Together with the red collar and red cuffs, the style of the shirt was developed by JAKO in close consultation with Stefan Kießling and the Werkself team committee.
"We wanted to interpret the classic club colours of Bayer 04 in a new and modern design," said the honorary captain who has been working as an adviser to the sporting management since 2018. Kießling, who is in close contact with former teammates, is working in tandem with Christoph Rohmer, head of sponsorship at JAKO, and his team. "In discussion with the players, we have also provided the sleeves with a higher percentage of elastane to enable improved movement in the upper body," explained Rohmer.
The black shirt has vertical pinstripes which symbolises the players of the Bundesliga team. Werkself is on the outside of the collar and Bayer 04 is printed on the inner side. The hems of the sleeve bear the name of the city of Leverkusen.
The new Werkself kit is available now from the online shop as well as from the fan shops in Wiesdorf and Bergisch-Gladbach. The shirt costs €79.90 (children sizes: €59.90) and is available in sizes from 128 up to 5XL.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen will have to manage without centre-back Edmond Tapsoba in the coming weeks. The Burkina Faso international returned to the Werkself from the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco with a muscle injury.

In Germany, the temperatures are currently around zero, leaving even professional footballers freezing - but not the Bayer 04 Women. Roberto Pätzold's team have fled the cold to the south and are preparing for the second half of the season at a training camp in the Algarve, almost 2,000 kilometres away from home as the crow flies. The Leverkusen squad landed in Faro on Saturday morning and have already completed the first three training sessions over the weekend.

It was a disappointing Saturday night. The Werkself lost 4-1 to VfB Stuttgart to start the new year on Bundesliga matchday 16 in 2025/26, a result that left both players and fans disappointed. "We played without any passion," said Alejandro Grimaldo honestly afterwards. Teammate Jarell Quansah was even more self-critical, emphasising: "We were miles off it in the first half. You can't put in a performance like that, especially in front of our own fans and I can only apologise to them, to be honest." Read on for the reaction, facts and stats from the clash with VfB Stuttgart in the Werkself review.
