
A striking look has been achieved with a town map of Leverkusen on the dark blue shirt with the Bayer 04 logo fitting in perfectly with the design. The logo of Bayer AG is on the chest. The left sleeve has a logo of the Bayer Sports Family in addition to the Castore kit supplier logo. The white Werkself lettering on the neck is also eye-catching.
The Bayer Sports Family matchday against Mainz will see the flag-wavers, TSV athletes at the full house at the BayArena, and the mascot Brian the Lion wearing the shirts.
The limited edition shirt, which every Bayer 04 Club member can order up to two of, is made of 100% polyester. It is available in adult sizes S to 5XL and costs €84.90.

The first Bayer Sports Family matchday in September 2023 against Darmstadt was a complete success. The wide range of participation activities in and around the stadium, the presentation of the different team sports and tributes to the athletes were rounded off in style by a 5-1 home win for the Werkself. Bayer 04 fans can now look forward to the next Bayer Sports Family matchday – with the exceptional highlight of this limited edition shirt.
The Bayer Sports Family:
As part of the Bayer Sports Family, Bayer 04 are moving closer together to the Bayer sports clubs and Bayer AG. This historic connection is being revived with joint events like the Bayer Sports Family matchday and the Bayer Sports Family week. Bayer 04 will provide updates on the different team and individual sports, for example with important competitions and events. And the athletes from the Giants, Werkselfen, Volleys and Co. will regularly be integrated into our reporting: From the Werkself Magazin via Werkself TV and the Bayer 04 app through to the social media channels with over ten million followers. The highlight is the content format Bayer Sports Family duel where Bayer 04 first team players compete against TSV Bayer athletes in their disciplines.

Lying third in the Bundesliga, the Werkself made a faltering start in 2026 after the winter break, but gradually rediscovered winning ways and, as in the previous campaign, were among the top 16 in Europe and the top four in the DFB Pokal. In the Bundesliga, the Werkself also remained in the race for Champions League qualification right to the end. However, because setbacks repeatedly crept into the Werkself's performances between good displays and crucial games, it was not quite enough to secure a UCL spot in the end. Rogier Meijer is leaving Bayer 04 Leverkusen and returning to his native Netherlands: The 44-year-old will take over at Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam on 1 July. Meijer has been part of the Werkself coaching set-up since the start of the 2025/26 season - first as assistant coach to Erik ten Hag, then on Kasper Hjulmand's staff.

Following the final match of the 2025/26 season, the prevailing feeling was naturally one of disappointment after missing out on qualification for the Champions League. The Werkself finished the Bundesliga in sixth place, meaning they'll start the 2026/27 campaign in the Europa League. "But to talk negatively about everything now because of that would be wrong," stressed captain Robert Andrich following the final game, knowing that the past year at Bayer 04 was marked, more than almost any other, by the start of a new era and the courage to change – and in particular, the belief in a positive direction. The Bayer 04 Women’s squad for the coming season is continuing to take shape: Centre-back Emily Wallrabenstein has moved to Leverkusen from Eintracht Frankfurt’s reserve team, who play in the Women’s Bundesliga 2. The 19-year-old has penned a contract until 30 June 2028.
