Here we go again: one day after the European Championship final, in which Spain, featuring the Werkself's Alejandro Grimaldo take on England, the training pitch at the BayArena will once again be busy, when captain Lukas Hradecky and the majority of his teammates kick off their pre-season preparations for the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal - both as defending champions - as well as for the UEFA Champions League.
Euro 2024 finalist Grimaldo and Exequiel Palacios, who is due to play in the Copa América final with Argentina, will miss the start of training, as will a number of European Championship and Copa América participants who are now on their well-earned holidays after taking part in tournaments straight after the end of last season.

Bayer 04 have signed Tim Oermann on a contract to 2029. The central defender, who can also play at right-back, joins the Werkself from VfL Bochum following their relegation from the Bundesliga.
