An exciting cup tie at the BayArena ends with the victorious Werkself through to the quarter-finals. Bayer 04 beat second division VfB Stuttgart 2-1 at home in the DFB Cup. An own goal from the visitors' keeper Fabian Bredlow (71') and a strike from Lucas Alario (83') put the Black and Reds ahead before Silas Wamangituka pulled a goal back for VfB (85').
