"Securitas have proved to be a committed partner over previous years. We look forward to continuing this cooperation and going forward together," said Fernando Carro, chairman of the board at Bayer 04.
Dirk Dernbach, CEO of Securitas Sport & Event GmbH, added: "We are grateful to Bayer 04 Leverkusen for continuing to show their confidence in us and we very much look forward to starting a season together where hopefully football fans will again be able to watch games in stadiums. We are fully prepared for the return of fans given our expertise in the management of sports events as well as the implementation and maintenance of relevant hygiene regulations."
Securitas Sport & Event GmbH, who took over from BaySecur GmbH, a now dissolved joint enterprise of Bayer 04 Leverkusen Fußball GmbH and Securitas, in 2016, is responsible for all control and security duties for Werkself home games at the BayArena. The employees of the firm, whose parent company Securitas AB is based in Sweden, also look after other events organised by Bayer 04. That includes Werkself training sessions and friendlies, press conferences as well as matches played by the Bayer 04 Women's and youth teams.

There won’t just be plenty of excitement on the pitch as Bayer 04 host Borussia Dortmund at the BayArena at 18:30 CET on Saturday. Outside the stadium there will be collection points for food donations to the Leverkusen Foodbank, which will also benefit from the profits of a jersey raffle in the Fanwelt afterwards. There will also be a minute’s silence before kick-off following the passing of long-time Werkself player Dieter Herzog, before two fan clubs are honoured for their decades-long support at half-time and fans receive a talk about Orange Day, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Here’s all you need to know ahead of the game in our matchday news.
