Friendly against Oberhausen on Saturday afternoon

The opponents have been confirmed for the friendly on Saturday, 31 July. After Celta Vigo withdrew from travelling to Germany because of positive coronavirus cases, Bayer 04 will now play Regional League club Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. The match is at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium with the kick-off at 14.00 CEST.

Tickets for the friendly against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen are exclusively available from the Bayer 04 Service Centre. Tickets go on sale today (Thursday) from 15.00 CEST by calling 0214 5000 1904.

proof required  – obligatory tests for children from age of 6

Away fans are not permitted; spectators must be double vaccinated, have recovered from the virus or have a current negative test result. Children of six and above require a certificated, negative test result. The relevant documentation is to be produced at the entrance to the stadium. Face masks are to be worn throughout the stadium and can only be taken off at your seat. Bayer 04 will not provide any catering but spectators may bring their own food and drink (0.5 litre PET).

As in the friendly against Utrecht, 350 tickets are available at five euros each. The proceeds go to the 'Leverkusen hilft' campaign organised by the Leverkusen community foundation.

Fans not able to attend the match can watch the game on the Bayer 04 YouTube channel. Once again, Niko Hartmann will be the commentator for the Werkself friendly from 13.50 CEST.

The Werkself start the new season on 7 August with the DFB Cup tie against Lokomotive Leipzig.

Werkself held to 1-1 draw by Bayern in eventful encounter

Bayer 04 were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Bayern Munich in an eventful Matchday 26 fixture in the Bundesliga. Aleix Garcia had given the Werkself the lead inside six minutes, but Bayern levelled in the second half through Luis Diaz, despite Nicolas Jackson having been send off before the break. Diaz was then dismissed himself as Leverkusen pushed for a winner, which failed to materialise as Jonas Hofmann saw a late goal ruled out.
