The third season at Bayer 04 for the man born in the Allgäu was extremely good – so good that the Kicker named Kevin Volland as the second best striker in the Bundesliga after Robert Lewandowski in its ranking of German football. Kevin's eight goals and ten assists in the second half of the season were truly impressive. "A team player, good vision and knows where the goal is, a target man up front and an absolute leader," was the justified praise for the 26-year-old who was enormously effective both in the centre of the attack as well as on the wings.
After four years at Bayer 04, Kevin Volland is joining top French club AS Monaco with immediate effect. The club, that only hired coach Niko Kovac last month, have bought out the 28-year-old Volland from his contract that was due to run to 30 June 2021. The striker has signed a contract at the eight-time French champions to 2024.
