Jeremie Frimpong joined the Werkself in January 2021. The 1.75 metre tall right-back came to Leverkusen from the top Scottish club Celtic on a contract to 2025. Sporting managing director Simon Rolfes sees the signing of the Holland U20 international as a “signing for the future.” Frimpong has impressive technique, is very quick and keen to get involved in attacks. He progressed through the youth ranks at Manchester City from 2010-19; he signed for Celtic in the summer of 2019 where he won the treble of the league title, League Cup and Scottish Cup in 2019/20.
