Seven Werkself players nominated for Bundesliga Team of the Season

The video games manufacturer Electronic Arts (EA) in conjunction with the German Football League (DFL) have started the vote for the annual Bundesliga Team of the Season. Werkself fans now have the opportunity to put forward seven Bayer 04 players for the top eleven in the 2024/25 Bundesliga season. Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka, Jonathan Tah, Piero Hincapie, Patrik Schick, Jeremie Frimpong and Alejandro Grimaldo are in the vote. Voting ends on Sunday, 27 April (19:59 CEST).

Based on official Bundesliga match data, 42 players have been nominated this year having particularly impressed in the current campaign.

A panel of judges decides who goes into the Bundesliga Team of the Season. This is made up of – as with the monthly vote for Bundesliga Player of the Month and the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month – fans (weighting: 40%), team captains of the 18 Bundesliga clubs (weighting: 30%) plus a panel of pundits (weighting: 30%) made up of Bundesliga legends and selected media partners.

The eleven best players form the Bundesliga Team of the Season presented by EA SPORTS and they will receive a significantly improved value in EA FC 25. The result will be announced on Friday, 9 May.

The Bundesliga Player of the Season 2024/25 will be announced on matchday 34 when the Werkself are away to Mainz 05 (Saturday, 17 May, 15:30 CEST). This will be decided by votes from fans for the Team of the Season plus club and pundit votes. Last season in 2023/24, when Bayer 04 were the unbeaten champions of Germany, Florian Wirtz won the vote and became the Bundesliga Player of the Season n for the first time in his career. It was also the first time the trophy made its way to Leverkusen.

Video games manufacturer Electronic Arts (EA), together with the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL), has announced the six nominees for the February 2026 Bundesliga Player of the Month award. Not one, but two Werkself players are on the list in Edmond Tapsoba and Alejandro Grimaldo. Supporters of the Black-and-Reds have from now until midnight on Sunday 8 March to vote!

The German Football League (DFL) has announced the three candidates for Bundesliga ‘Rookie of the Month’ for February. Among the candidates is Werkself player Jarell Quansah. Fans of Bayer 04 can vote for their favourite on the Bundesliga app from now until Thursday, 5 March (23:59 CET).

Following action against black market activities: Season tickets reallocated to fans on waiting list

Bayer 04 have once again significantly stepped up measures against the unauthorised resale of tickets and, as a result, reallocated a certain number of season tickets to fans on the waiting list. In doing so, the club wants to send a clear message: Tickets belong in the hands of those who have purchased these tickets legitimately and obtained them via official Bayer 04 channels and who support the Werkself. At the same time, the tickets should be available at the regular fixed prices.

Arthur sidelined by ankle injury

Bayer 04 will have to manage without Brazilian player Arthur for the next few weeks. The full-back tore a ligament in his left ankle in yesterday's Bundesliga match against Mainz 05 (1-1).
