
Based on official Bundesliga match data, 42 players have been nominated this year having particularly impressed in the current campaign.
A panel of judges decides who goes into the Bundesliga Team of the Season. This is made up of – as with the monthly vote for Bundesliga Player of the Month and the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month – fans (weighting: 40%), team captains of the 18 Bundesliga clubs (weighting: 30%) plus a panel of pundits (weighting: 30%) made up of Bundesliga legends and selected media partners.
The eleven best players form the Bundesliga Team of the Season presented by EA SPORTS and they will receive a significantly improved value in EA FC 25. The result will be announced on Friday, 9 May.
The Bundesliga Player of the Season 2024/25 will be announced on matchday 34 when the Werkself are away to Mainz 05 (Saturday, 17 May, 15:30 CEST). This will be decided by votes from fans for the Team of the Season plus club and pundit votes. Last season in 2023/24, when Bayer 04 were the unbeaten champions of Germany, Florian Wirtz won the vote and became the Bundesliga Player of the Seasonn for the first time in his career. It was also the first time the trophy made its way to Leverkusen.

Bayer 04 have signed left-back Carolin Simon from champions Bayern Munich for the coming season. The 33-year-old former Germany international, who played for Leverkusen from 2013 to 2016, has signed a contract to 30 June 2028.

The Werkself returned from the near one-month break in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga with a convincing victory at home. Roberto Pätzold's side beat SC Freiburg 4-1 on Sunday afternoon, with goals from Katharina Piljic, Estrella Merino Gonzalez, Cornelia Kramer and Carlotta Wamser ensuring a 13th win of the season at the Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion. The Black and Reds, who are now on 40 points, move up to fourth place at least overnight.

The fifth consecutive derby win over 1. FC Köln was a hugely significant one in terms of the battle for the UEFA Champions League places.
