Xhaka agreed a contract to 2028 at Leverkusen. "His footballing quality is well known. But above all, there are only a few players who can lead a team as convincingly as he can thanks to outstanding mentality and personality," said Simon Rolfes, sporting managing director at Bayer 04, in praise of the former Mönchengladbach player when he signed.
