Victor Boniface joined Bayer 04 in the summer of 2023 from Belgian top-flight club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. The Nigerian striker signed a contract to 2028. "Victor is a very sharp, hard-to-play centre-forward who presents a challenge to any defender simply through his physicality. In addition, he is also fast and technically skilled," said sporting managing director Simon Rolfes when he signed for the Werkself.
