Bayer 04 signed Argentine midfielder Claudio Echeverri in the summer of 2025. The youngster joined on a one-year loan from Premier League club Manchester City and has been given the number 9 jersey at Leverkusen. Managing director sport Simon Rolfes said after the contract signing: “Claudio Echeverri is a technically strong, energetic player who moves very dynamically between the lines and creates danger from there. He is a fine footballer – very strong at dribbling, with a drive towards goal and always able to use his teammates to his advantage. Football fans come to the stadium to see someone like Claudio play.”
